Esky Lama

Radio control electric helicopters can be a great hobby. These wee machines fly and behave just like the real thing .Small electric helicopters can be flown indoors, in you garage , yard or even in you lounge!!The best helicopter to start learn with in my opinion, is the E-sky Lama. It has two counter rotating rotors , this give it a natural stability. This is perfect for the beginner !!This little machine is powered by a lithium polymer battery . These batteries are very powerful and very light weight. I get a flight times of 5-8 minutes depending on how aggressive you fly it.The battery recharges off mains power or using the field charger, you can recharge the batteries off a car battery etc.
Flying the lama is dead easy. The transmitter picture above has two control sticks. These "sticks" can each move vertically and horizontally. The left stick , in my case the vertical movement controls the throttle. Increasing the throttles spins up the rotors and creates lift, do this gently until you see the machine start to slide around. The horizontal movement of the left stick controls the "yaw" movement . A left motion turns the cockpit left, and right well you know. The right hand stick horizontal motion controls the movement sideways. The vertical motion of the right hand stick controls forward and reverse motion. So , with the control sticks you have a full range of motion control, pitch (forward/aft) ;roll(side to side) and yaw (horizontal direction).
